I am a Grade 8 Humanities teacher at the International School of Beijing since 2002. I have been an Administrator in the K- 12 public schools system in Australia and in the international school system. I also have extensive experience in the classroom, teaching Grade 1 - 12 with curriculum and staff development being a highlight.
My continued work to help students to learn to develop and use their reading and writing skills, stems from my passion and belief that students need to make connections with what they read and though developing excellent questioning skills, cultivate profound understanding. I am often asked to present to a wide range of audiences ranging from parent groups, peers, teachers of second language users and Chinese nationals.
The 4 Roles Framework makes a positive impact on the teaching and learning in not only my Humanities classroom but within other subjects as well. It has been inspiring.
